In Jaws, Steven Spielberg put his dog in the film. Brody’s dog was Spielberg’s real dog. It was a cocker spaniel and the dog’s name was Elmer.

In addition, Peter Benchley regretted writing Jaws because it depicted sharks in negative way. Later in life, Peter Benchly was dedicated to helping sharks. He believed sharks were victims due to them being murdered and their portrails in writings.
